All the subjects/opportunities in this component of the curriculum are compulsory for
all students. Classes in each of these subject areas are conducted with students from the
same year level, i.e.. Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9.
2. ELECTIVES
The majority of electives (with the exception of the Physical Education units) have
been streamed sequentially from Level 1 (Introductory Course) to Level 3 (Advanced
Course).
All elective classes are potentially multi-age groupings. However, Year 7/8 students
will be the majority studying at Levels 1 and 2 and Year 9s at Levels 2 and
3.
All electives are semester length, with the exception of LOTE which offers year length
courses.
Every student is required to select:
- Language Other than English. Students have the opportunity to study:
Italian / Japanese / English as a Second Language.
- Physical Education : At least one course each Semester
Adventure Pursuits / Aerobic Activity / Aquatics / Athletic
Activity / Gymnastics / Indoor Sports / Outdoor Education / Outdoor Sports / Racquet Sports
/ Striking Games / Triathlon
- Arts : At least one Semester length course per year
- Technology & Enterprise Learning Areas : At least one
Semester length course per year
